We pride ourselves in providing large fowl Wyandottes for the serious exhibitor, breeder, back yard poultry enthusiast or just for those who prefer the highest quality large fowl Wyandottes available. If your looking to get into poultry or add to an exisitng flock why not take pride in preserving an American heritage breed? The Wyandotte chicken is an American breed originating with the silver laced variety that can trace it's origins to New York state durring the early 1870's. With these tough times that our country is facing we have found a huge demand for quality large fowl Wyandottes. It seems that Americans are wanting to get back to simpler pleasures. Farm fresh eggs and beautiful birds in the yard are as American as baseball and apple pie. Nothing beats pulling out a lawn chair on a cool Saturday morning with a cup of hot coffee in hand and just sitting back and enjoying a flock of Wyandottes as they strut and scratch around in your yard. It sure beats reading the gloomy morning newspaper.
We where shocked to find that many of the standard Wyandottes varieties where all but extinct, so we made it our goal to put all varieties of large fowl Wyandottes into the hands of as many poultry enthusiasts as possible while preserving a piece of American heritage. Our stock is a great choice for 4-H and F.F.A. projects as well as a stunning backyard flock of egg layers.
This past year we had many exciting results in several of our lines of Wyandottes with better size, crisper lacing, better colors and better overall type. We go to great lengths and expense to provide you with large fowl Wyandottes that are amongst the best available. We hatch out hundreds of chicks from each of our lines, and then cull down to a few of the best pullets to provide you with great breeding and potential show stock. Please note that we are not a hatchery, but serious breeders of large fowl Wyandottes. Thoughout these pages you will see actual pictures of our breeding stock not some artists renditions or paintings as the commercial hatcheries tend to use.
As you navigate around our site you will see that Paul's poultry farm is primarily dedicated to raising the best possible quality large fowl Wyandottes. Wyandottes are what we do and are our passion! We also raise several varieties of bantam Wyandottes, call ducks and even a few varieties of show quality silkies. We don't chase the current hottest breed or variety of bird in an attempt to make a quick buck but stay the course with what we know best. Every year we sell our lines to very many small hatcheries that claim to have our lines, but the only way to ensure you are getting the Paul's line of quality Wyandottes is to order directly from us.
Available Varieties at the Paul's Poultry Farm
We are extremely pleased and exicted to anounce that starting in the spring of 2010 we will offer all nine accepted varieties of large fowl Wyandottes as well as our blue laced reds.We currently offer White, Blue Laced Red, Silver Laced, Golden Laced, Partridge, Silver Penciled, Columbian, Blue, Black and Buff Wyandottes. In the works is Barred, Pyle, Buff Columbian, Lavender ("Coronation") Columbian and Violet Laced variety of Wyandottes. We are the only large fowl breder of Wyandottes in the United States to offer all of the varieties. All varieities in one place!
