Silver Penciled Wyandottes

Silver Pencilled Male

Silver Penciled Wyandottes were admitted to the Standard in 1902 and now are the hardest of all Wyandottes to find. Hopefully this extremely rare variety will be resuscitated by the dedication and hard work of conscientious breeders and poultry enthusiasts. We have made huge improvements to this varietyThis is the variety that needs the most work. We will be hatching out hundreds of Silver Penciled chicks each year for the foreseeable future in an attempt to improve these birds. The silver penciled variety could easily be as outstanding as either the Silver Laced or Columbian Wyandottes. If you are looking to help save a little piece of American poultry heritage and take on a challenging project, this variety is for you. This variety can be shown but we feel that in their current condition the best they could do at show would be best of variety. Paul’s poultry has made it one of our goals to improve this variety to the point of not just being able to compete, but to win against all other varieties of Wyandottes.
