The American Blue Laced Red Wyandottes

Of all the Wyandottes at our farm we are best known for our quality line of Blue Laced Red Wyandottes. Arguably the best in the nation our birds are derived from a closed line of imports that have not been crossed with hatchery birds. Almost all other lines of blr's in America have been derived from hatcheries. To see the difference visit http://bluelacedred.com/Hatchery or Breeder.html. Since we started working with the blue laced red Wyandottes we have hatched over a thousand chicks just for ourselves in an attempt to improve this variety of Wyandotte. Every year we burst at the seams raising as many as 200 hundred blue laced red chicks a year and cull down to half a dozen of the best pullets and only one or two males will make the cut. We have to hatch that much in order to make an improvement in the Blue Laced Red variety of Wyandottes. The Blue Laced Red color is stunning and their type is making great progress every year, but as far as Wyandottes go they have a little ways to go before it can be said that they are true to standard. We want you to return to us time and time again for quality poultry, so we'll stop at nothing to ensure that you are getting the best available stock. Blue Laced Red Wyandotte chicks will come in any combination of lacing color including blue, black and white. For more on these combinations visit http://bluelacedred.com/blue black and splash.html. This variety has yet to be accepted into the A.P.A., but can be shown in an open class. We are currently working with the Wyandotte breeders of America club to have this variety accepted by the A.P.A. within the next few years.

A Wyandotte needs to have a wide open tail to be a Wyandotte. When looking for a good Wyandotte look at their tail and try and stay away from tails that are pinched, closed or clam like.
